One dispatch line for the whole South Bay coast
Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach are the three Beach Cities, and they sit side by side along the same stretch of Santa Monica Bay. A leak or backup does not care about a city line, so one 24/7 dispatch number covers all of them, plus El Segundo to the north and inland Lawndale to the east.
Each town page below covers what is different there: the water supply and what the town's own utility report says, the streets and corridors our crews work, and the services that tend to come up most. Start with the town where the problem is, then read the neighbors if you live near a border.
How coverage actually works
Coverage is about the address, not the ZIP. Some streets sit on the edge of a ZIP or a city line, and a ZIP can contain addresses in more than one city. If you are not sure, give the dispatcher your street address and we will confirm.
We do not have separate pages for Torrance, Gardena, Carson, Hawthorne or Lomita, but the dispatcher can tell you whether a job there is within reach. The sooner you ask, the better we can plan.
Water differs by town
The tap water in these towns comes from different systems, and it changes what we see in pipes and tanks.
Manhattan Beach
The City supplies a blend of groundwater and imported surface water. Its 2023 Annual Water Quality Report lists groundwater hardness around 392 mg/L and imported water around 136 mg/L.
Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach
Cal Water's Hermosa-Redondo district serves much of these cities, with some portions served by others. Its 2023 report lists groundwater hardness at 560 ppm, which it classes as very hard. Check which system serves your address.
El Segundo and Lawndale
We do not quote hardness for these two. Ask your water provider for its annual water quality report, and ask about hardness, disinfectant and any notices.
Why it matters
Hard water builds scale on heating elements and inside tankless units. It is the most common reason water heaters age early in this area.
If you are on a town border
Plenty of addresses sit near a boundary, and the answer is quick to find.
- 1
Give the street address
Read the number and street to dispatch. Mention the nearest major road, such as Sepulveda Blvd, Aviation Blvd, Pacific Coast Highway or Hawthorne Blvd.
- 2
Name the building type
Single-family homes, condos, apartments and shops can need different access. Say if there is a gate, a locked garage or a shared meter room.
- 3
Confirm the water system
If hardness or water quality is part of the problem, find out which utility serves you. Dispatch can tell you what we usually see in your area.
What each town tends to need
Beach-side addresses in Hermosa Beach often call about corroded outdoor fixtures and older tanks. In Redondo Beach, hard groundwater makes water heater repair a regular topic.
The office and industrial corridor in El Segundo brings commercial calls such as backflow, grease lines and restrooms, and post-war neighborhoods in Lawndale bring a steady mix of drain cleaning and sewer work.
