Terms of Service
These terms describe how we work with customers of Manhattan Beach 24/7 Plumbing. They are written to be read, not skimmed past. They do not take away any rights you have under California law.
About these terms
These terms apply to plumbing services arranged through Manhattan Beach 24/7 Plumbing, 1800 N Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, and to use of this website. By calling us to book work, or by using the site, you agree to them.
A written agreement for a specific job, if we give you one, controls over these general terms for that job.
How you book
Service is arranged by phone through our dispatch line at (310) 424-7510, which is staffed 24 hours a day. This site does not take bookings or payments. A booking is confirmed when dispatch tells you a plumber has been assigned or an appointment time has been set.
Calls to our line may be recorded for quality and training purposes.
Same-day appointments are offered when available. Availability depends on demand and the nature of the job, and we do not promise a specific arrival time.
Prices and approval
You will receive a clear price before work starts. The price describes the work that is to be done. Nothing is started until you approve it.
Plumbing often reveals surprises, such as a corroded fitting behind a wall or a second blockage deeper in a line. If the plan changes, we will explain what we found and give you a revised price. You may accept it or decline, and if you decline you may still owe for work already approved and performed, such as diagnosis you asked for.
Deposits and payment
Payment terms, including any deposit, will be explained before work begins. California's licensing board advises that a deposit should be no more than 10 percent of the contract or $1,000, whichever is less, with an exception for contractors holding a blanket bond. We follow the law that applies to the job.
Balances are due when the work is done unless we agreed otherwise in writing.
Licensed and insured work
Work is carried out by licensed plumbers and we are insured. You can check any California contractor license on the Contractors State License Board website at cslb.ca.gov or by calling 800-321-CSLB. We encourage you to do so.
What we need from you
To do the job safely, we need accurate information and safe access. Please tell us about any hazards, such as a gas smell, standing water near electrical equipment, or pets. If you are not the owner, make sure you have authority to approve the work or tell us who does.
If you smell gas, leave the building first and call SoCalGas at 1-800-427-2200 or 911 before calling us.
Emergencies and our limits
We do our best to respond to emergencies promptly, but we cannot promise a particular response time. In life-threatening situations, call 911 first.
Some situations are outside what a plumber can do. For example, electrical hazards, structural damage and gas leaks may need the utility, an electrician or emergency services before plumbing work can start.
Insurance claims
Many home insurance policies cover sudden water damage but not slow leaks or wear. We can describe what we found and take photographs, but whether your claim is paid is between you and your insurer.
Permits and codes
Permit rules vary by city and by job. Ask the Manhattan Beach Community Development or building department, or the equivalent office in your city, whether a permit is needed. Work is intended to meet the California Plumbing Code that applies.
Warranty and problems with our work
If you think something we did is not right, call us promptly and we will look at it. Any warranty on parts or labor will be explained to you for the specific job. Nothing in these terms limits any rights the law gives you.
Website content
The information on this site is general and provided to help you decide what to do. It is not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a licensed plumber. Water quality and utility details are summaries, so check with your utility for official figures.
Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses. This does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited, including for our own negligence where the law says it cannot be excluded.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by California law. We may update them, and the version posted here applies to new bookings. Questions? Reach us through the contact page and see how we handle information on our privacy page.
